Egg Donation

Egg donation is the process by which a young woman (the egg donor) who is between the ages of 19-29, donates eggs for altruistic purposes, in order to assist another woman (the recipient) become pregnant. This process usually involves in vitro fertilisation (IVF) technology. Egg donors may be required for various reasons:

  1. Infertile couples may need to consider egg donation when the female partner cannot have genetic children because her own eggs cannot generate a viable pregnancy
  2. The chances may be so low that it is not advisable or financially feasible to do IVF with her own eggs

Thankfully, pregnancy rates using egg donation are very high.
